The growth and blossoming of the Breslev Chassidus after the Holocaust is a wonder to many. The destruction during the Holocaust was great; most of the Chassidim perished. A mere handful of Chassidim was left of the great Breslev court from before the Holocaust.
To those few unrelenting, invincible survivors, the Chassidus owes its existence today. About fifty years ago, those great Chassidim founded the Breslev Yeshivah, which served as a basis for the renewal and growth of the Chassidus as a whole. From its start, this great Yeshivah captured the hearts of the Yeshivah students. Fiery devotion and true love for avodas Hashem are the essence of the Yeshivah.
HaRav Shimon Bergstein zt"l, who was a truly holy and uplifted personality, made the dream of the Yeshivah possible. With unmatched devotion and altruism, he invested unbelievable efforts to set up and uphold the Yeshivah. Until his last living moments, he gave himself over completely for this holy mission. continue>>
